J.B.

jb_1Written in 1958 by the playwright/poet Archibald MacLeish,  J.B. is a contemporary re-telling of the Book of Job, written in free verse.  The Broadway production won both the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play and Best Direction  in 1959.

Unexpected Company produced J.B. in cooperation with Westminster Presbyterian Church as part of its annual Fine Arts Series, with funding support from the Iowa Arts Council.
