Celebration Quotation – January 14, 2016

Today’s quote is a piece of good advice from a parent to a child – the Countess in All’s Well That Ends Well:

"Love all, trust a few. Do wrong to none." All's Well That Ends Well, Act I, Scene 1; illustration by Sir John Gilbert

The drawing, from the mid-19th century is from a group of renderings of scenes from the play by British artist Sir John Gilbert.  Gilbert was a self-taught painter and illustrator who created hundreds of Illustrations of Shakespeare’s plays, including the 1866 edition of Charles and Mary Lamb’s Tales from Shakespeare (an adaptation of the the stories of the plays written for children.)
